 Hi, My name is Karen .
I was born and raised in Omaha, NE. I am the youngest of 5 siblings.
Ok, yea.. I am the spoiled baby of the family, but gotta love that! :)
My mom and dad were married for 51 years, before my dad passed away on January
30th, 2005 from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
He had been sick for awhile, but was so tough, and trying hard to protect
his family from sorrow, he hid it. Not realzing how sick he really was,
it was a shock to us all when he went into the hospital the day after Christmas
and never came out.
I miss him terribly. He was a wonderful man and a wonderful father. He taught
me so much. I just hope that my kids will remember their grandpa!
I know though,that he is in a better place now, where he won't have
to suffer any longer.
I became a mommy in December of 1995. It was the greatest experience!
I never knew how much a baby and becoming a mommy would change my entire life.
I was pretty much a work-a-holic, but having a baby made me realize that
family is the most important thing in the world to me.
I had the honor of being the
March of Dimes
ambassador in 2001 and 2002. I really enjoyed it. I was able to get a lot of information
out there and educate people about spina bifida and the fetal surgery.
I think the March of Dimes is a wonderful organization and I was happy
to be involved with them.
I have to say, this year I guess
I am a bit disappointed, as they have switched their focus and ad
campaigning from birth defects to solely premature risks and births.
I think we need to remember all the things that the March of Dimes does
and how wonderful their organization is. They don't just fund and help
babies that are born premature but help children like Dillon and fund
programs to help those that are born disabled as well.
I am constantly updating and adding pages to our website,

Favorite actress: Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock
Favorite song: I dont really have one, but the song on my page,
"walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves has always brightened my day for some reason
Favorite music: I like country, I also like music from the 80's :)
